Unexpected Day Off

November 13, 2007 at 9:02 am (Gaming, General)

So I got up this morning, got ready for work, and was on my way out the door when my phone rang. It was my boss, telling me that it’s too slow today and they don’t need me. Such is the way it is when you work at a hotel. Now I’m sitting here on my computer, at a loss for something to do because I’m usually still asleep at this time on my days off, but I’m too awake to go back to bed right now. I’m glad I’m off, though, because it’s raining outside. I like being home on rainy days. It’s like an open invitation to just laze around.

My dog is adorable in the mornings, by the way. She’s all sleepy and yawny and stretchy and her eyes are still half closed. :P

I stayed at my parents’ house last night and I’m still here, but I’ll probably go back home pretty soon. I miss Adam and he’s off work today, which means we can spend the whole day playing video games together. We’re playing Resistance: Fall of Man on Multiplayer right now. Aside from the fact that there’s a big plot hole in the story if you play on Multiplayer (it’s supposed to be the story of one man, alone, so where the heck does my character come in?!), it’s a really fun game. There’s nothing like running in and blasting monsters with guns and grenades while your boyfriend sits back and picks them off one by one with a sniper rifle. I also bought Final Fantasy VI for the Game Boy Advance yesterday and I’m eager to get started on that. It’s one of my favorite games of all time, and I can’t wait to experience it on the DS with all the extra stuff they added for the GBA version.

Well, I’m off to have breakfast and enjoy my unexpected day off!

Haha, I didn’t actually think that work places did that. :X It’s to cut down costs, right?

My boyfriend does the same thing… if I remember correctly, Resistance is PS3 only right? We just play on the computer cos it’s easier for FPS, lol.

Gah! I wish I could get a day off and play video games all day long with my boyfriend. He got my some new games for my DS and I can’t wait until I get to try them out. Hooray for the approaching holidays!

Hope all is well, we haven’t heard from you in quite some time now.

Cynthia: Hey and thanks for visiting! I guess so. I usually work as a breakfast host these days, but I used to work in the laundry part of housekeeping. All I know is that we could only have two people in laundry if we had more than 30 rooms booked. If we had 30 rooms or less and two people were on the schedule (which was usually the case), one of us had to stay home. It always ended up being me since I’m the part-timer. Luckily, doing breakfast is giving me more hours, though.

Yeah, Resistance is PS3. I usually like FPS better on the PC too, but lately I’ve been playing them more on consoles just because my boyfriend does.

Danwei: Holidays are awesome for getting new video games! Hooray indeed! :D

Caitlin: I’m back again! Sorry for the continual delays. I’m trying really hard to keep this blog going because I like it here. Real life just takes over sometimes. Hopefully I can get to a point soon where I start updating regularly.
